Prior to the grand opening of the Festival of Lights at Bull Run Regional Park, they host what is called the "Snowflake Stampede," a 5k run/walk through the park so you can check out the beautiful lights on foot. The minute we read about it, we knew this was a "must do" on our holiday check list and so we reserved a camp site, decorated Adam's BOB with Christmas lights, purchased Santa hats for both Adam and Liddy (the latter was not so much a fan of wearing hers!) and enjoyed a wonderful, though chilly, stroll through the magical festival of lights!
Adam's favorite was seeing Santa and counting down the "12 Days of Christmas." Andy and I both agreed that the snowfall forest was our favorite part. With Christmas tunes playing on my phone as we walked through the "falling snow," we knew that Christmas time was here!
We capped off the evening with Adam's first viewing of "Frosty the Snowman," and I may have snuggled up and enjoyed it with him. ;)
