VT reunion at Lake of the Woods...

We spent an awesome weekend this summer at Lake of the Woods with Greg & Erica and Chris & Aimee (and kiddos of course).  It's always fun when we can get our crew together and even more fun when a lake is involved.

The kids had a great time playing together. They swam, went for boat rides, and we think they napped at least a little.

As per usual we all brought/made way too much food - but that's how we roll so it's ok.

Love our weekends with our VT friends/family. Watching these kids grow up together (even if it's only a couple weekends a year) is what I think we all secretly dreamed about when we were still playing flip cup together in Blacksburg.

Memorial Day Weekend...

Once again we were blessed with an amazing Memorial Day weekend thanks to those who have sacrificed so much. We did our best to make the most of it and to be sure we gave thanks to those who made it possible.

We had friends over and enjoyed watching our kids play while we sipped on wine and cooked up treats like soft shelled crab...

We hit some new pools in our neighborhood...

We spent time with family and devoured oysters and blue crabs (we also witnessed Poppy teaching Adam how to pick a crab...seems he's more interested in the hammering part...go figure)...

We did yard work - and by that I mean we trimmed our trees - like..a lot...

It looks good...

To cap it all off we had two of my bestest friends in the world over for dinner and watched as our kiddos forged friendships that we can only hope will be as strong and last as long...

Oh...there was also pie...

Happy Memorial Day and thank you to those who make this wonderful holiday weekend possible (and those who hold down the fort while they are gone...)

Reunion Weekend

A few weekends ago we got our old crew back together for a little reunion. Chris, Aimee, Ryan & Drew came up from Richmond and Greg, Erica, Blake & Parker came as well. We were blessed with a rare spring-like day in February which allowed us to have windows open, a pork shoulder smoking on the grill, and tulips on display for the first time this year.

The kids had so much fun playing together. The basement looked like a tornado had come through, but that just proved it was a good time for all. We had fun chasing Drew around (newly walking and in a not so baby-proofed house) and Parker took it all in from her bouncy seat, never shedding a tear, she's officially the best baby ever.

As for us grown kids, we had fun catching up and strolling down memory lane from time to time.

Adam was excited to have a sleepover with Ryan. They did great (once they fell asleep!) and in the morning it was cartoons in our bed followed by the best doughnuts (a sleep over must-have!)

It was a short visit, but way overdue. Looking forward to our next reunion (where hopefully I'll take more pictures!) :)

Weekend at Lake of the Woods...

We had something pretty big to celebrate and what better way to celebrate than with a weekend on the lake surrounded by friends??

The kids ran around, did arts and crafts, swam, ran some more, and chased each other with water guns (which by the way also involves running).

Due to our very entertained children, the parents were able to spend time chit chatting and relaxing with one another. Though there was one exception, Baby Drew. Oh my, sweet baby Drew! I happily gave up some of that chit chat and relax time to cuddle up with this cutie pie! That smile...those legs!! :)

The dogs enjoyed themselves. Liddy was in the water almost the entire time and Roxie was kind enough to invite her along for our boat ride...

Ah yes, the boat!

Or shall we call it, "The Love Boat?!"

Yep, we had something to celebrate and I'd say we did a great job of it...welcome home Greggers!
