Amy & Brendan (& Crew) Dance the Night Away...

Look out dance floor cause here we come! Thankfully the bride and groom thought ahead and gifted their guests with appropriate dancing shoes...

Everyone had a blast, including the little cousins. They loved being on the dance floor and proved that it might take a little nurturing to hone the skills, but the desire to be out there dancing is all nature! :)

After we danced, "The Last Dance," (nothing like a little Donna Summer to end the evening) we headed back to the hotel for a few more beverages, a few more laughs and of course plenty of hugs as we bid adieu to our family...until next time that is!

Amy & Brendan Say "I Do"...

It was a gorgeous day for a wedding. The backdrop was a beautiful golf course but that hardly held a candle to the foreground - dapper groomsmen, radiant bridesmaids, a handsome groom and one stunner of a bride (oh, and a very adorable dog as well).

Our cousin (Brendan's brother) Sean officiated and did a great job. Our cousin Meghan (Brendan's sister) was sporting an adorable baby bump. And of course the rest of the Greeley crew was in tip top, from top to bottom shape as well.

The happy couple took their first kiss as husband and wife and rocked their way back down the aisle to some Billy Joel. It was perfection.

Cocktails kicked off the celebration followed by a wonderful dinner, moving toasts, and some epic first dances. This couple sure knows how to light up the dance floor and it wasn't long before we were all out there joining them.

This was going to be a terrific night...

Amy & Brendan Tie the Knot - Pre-Wedding Festivities...

This wedding has been on the books since waaaaay back in 2012 when my cousin Brendan popped the question to the beautiful, smart and fun Amy on a hike in Vermont. The Greeley gals had already agreed to adopt Amy should Brendan continue to drag his feet but turns out he was simply waiting for that perfect moment and we were all thrilled that she said "yes!"

So when the wedding weekend was finally upon us, the Virginia Greeley's filled up their gas tanks loaded up their EZ-Passes and hit the road for Massachusetts and what would be yet another epic Greeley family event.

The weekend kicked off with a backyard bbq at Aunt Judy & Uncle Gary's. Most of the family (those not attending the rehearsal) was able to attend and it was a great opportunity to give hugs, catch up, and stretch our legs in their amazing backyard. We were all excited about meeting Nathan, one of the newest Greeley cousins who hit the scene a year ago (well done Molly & Jeff). Adam and Olivia had fun playing with him (and his toys) and of course we all loved seeing the next generation making memories with one another.

The next morning we took the kids to Forest Park, a petting zoo that I remember Aunt Judy & Aunt Mary Jo taking us to when we were little. Adam and Olivia had fun seeing the different animals and while the train ride didn't work out we promised there was still lots of fun (and dancing!) to come.

Our last pre-wedding activity was lunch and backyard golf and baseball at Aunt Judy's. This time we got to meet the newest addition to our cousin clan, little miss Emery (Melissa & John you did good).

As if the afternoon hadn't been memorable enough, Uncle Tim brought out the guitar and sang for us. The. Best. He even sang Adam's favorite - the Winnie the Pooh song. Smiles and applause all around.

Hard to believe with all the fun we'd already had, the main event was still to come!

Andy went to Chicago...

While Andy was in Chicago for a work trip, I went with a friend to see Darius Rucker at Wolf Trap. We picnicked on an amazing cheese spread with figs and a fresh batch of gazpacho I whipped up for the occasion. Great food, great company, and a great concert!

Meanwhile in the Windy City, Andy enjoyed some touristy things, like renting bikes and riding to Navy Pier and taking in a ball game at Wrigley Field.

The best part of course was when he came home and with souvenirs no less! We welcomed him home with hugs and a round of mini-golf, because, you know, that's what you do sometimes.
