Virginia Tech the Sequel...Part II...

We hit the road from the Walnut Hill KOA and pulled into the golf course RV lot right at 10 and found Mark waiting there for us. We got our coveted end of the row spot, which we had missed out on the last time when we still thought the lot opened at Noon - amateurs! :) We then spent the rest of the day enjoying gorgeous weather - cool but sunny.

I took Adam on a walk around campus - with ice cream at one of Andy and my favorite date spots - Deets Place - as the destination. We enjoyed our ice cream outside and I just loved all the people watching - students walking to and from classes, friends meeting up for coffee and study time, and most likely a few other "Andy and Maureen's" meeting up at Deets for a mid-afternoon date. From there we made our way back to the camper by way of the Duck Pond.

Back at the campsite we found lots more campers had moved in for the weekend. Adam made some more friends and Harper got in on the action as well. Just so fun having them run all over and tire themselves out! :)

The next morning after breakfast we headed Cascades for a hike. It was as beautiful as I remembered it - though a lot steeper of a hike than I had remembered - guess that's the age talking! Harper was loving his backpack ride and the dogs worked their tails off climbing up and down rocks and Adam had all the energy that Andy and I must have lost - as he was non-stop and climbing up on big rocks every chance he could get - phew! Oh to be young again.

Needless to say we all worked up a great appetite so it was back to the camper and time for our tailgating to commence...

Virginia Tech the Sequel...Part I...

We had so much fun in Blacksburg in September that we couldn't resist getting another game on the books. This time we brought along Uncle Mark with us who hadn't been to a game in Lane Stadium since 2009 - to say he was excited is an understatement.

Just like our last trip we left on Thursday and stopped at the Walnut Hills KOA. Adam was so excited because this time the Halloween decorations were out - meaning the "corn maze" was set up. We have great memories of going through that in 2014 so it was fun to have the opportunity to do it again. The trees were in full on fall color mode which made for a gorgeous backdrop. The kids had fun playing at the park and made some friends as well.

The views from our site were spectacular and it was once again the perfect kick-off (ha!) to our VT football weekend!

Now - off to Blacksburg...

Fun at the Pumpkin Patch...

Adam had been waiting for this day all fall - our annual visit to the pumpkin patch at Meadows Farms. He is so funny like that - we've been to some legit pumpkin patches where you actually pick your pumpkin from a vine - and yet his earliest pumpkin patch memories are from Meadows and so it's always his request. I love how he embraces traditions like that - wonder where he gets that from?! ;)

It was a beautiful and crisp fall morning and we had the place all to ourselves. Harper was pretty mesmerized by all the pumpkins in all different shapes, sizes, and colors.

The boys had fun going down the tube slide - smiles all around. Adam is such a good big brother helping Harper climb the haystack ladder and helping him onto the slide.

Every year Adam talks about wanting to go on the scary bus - and every year he's freaked out - haha. This year he made and attempt to take Harper on the bus - but the scary bloody hand prints on the ceiling and the creepy clown bus driver had both boys back off the bus in a matter of seconds. To his credit, Adam did end up going through the whole thing towards the end of our visit.

We picked out pumpkins and snapped our traditional pics of Adam pulling the wagon - and Harper this year too! This year Adam had to also pull Harper on the wagon - the cutest pumpkin at the patch I'd say! :)

After we left there we headed across the street to the Reston Farm Market where they had a little petting zoo - the boys had fun petting the goats.

A perfect fall morning with our pumpkins!
