Spring Break in Retrospect...Myrtle Beach

After a great visit in Charleston we were ready to hit the beach so what better place to do it than at Ocean Lakes in Myrtle Beach! This was our third time staying at Ocean Lakes and as always it was the perfect spot to enjoy our last days of spring break.

We had great weather which meant we got lots of beach and pool time in! Adam loved having his toes in the sand again and he wore himself out running to and from the surf. Our beach bum from last summer has returned!

The pool proved to be a huge success as well.  They have a really fun "Splash Zone" with water guns, water falls, etc. etc. Adam had so much fun and I'll admit, Andy and I got in on the fun as well.

We enjoyed lots of bike rides, fed the ducks and of course got in a few rounds of mini-golf!

We also got in a couple dinners with Don & Mae Mae, always the highlight of our visits to Myrtle Beach!

It was a wonderful spring break filled with lots of great memories! We toasted to the end of our vacation with ice cream - a sweet end to an amazing week with family!

Spring Break in Retrospect Part II...Charleston

I love Charleston! Seriously, it's one of my favorite places and was so happy to be able to kick off our vacation with a couple days there. The weather was just ok, with much of Sunday hidden by clouds and a little bit of rain, allowing for guilt free viewing of The Masters (yay Adam Scott!)

When we weren't watching golf we were exploring the campground by foot and by bike. Liddy even got to go for a bike ride to the dog park. She was loving it but mostly I was just fearful of alligators...Nervous Nelly? Yep, that's me!

We enjoyed a visit to the USS Yorktown. I had toured it before for a work event and actually was back in Charleston the week after our trip for another work event there, ha! Andy and Adam loved it! Of course what's not to love about a huge ship filled with different types of airplanes and helicopters? A little (and not so little) boy's version of heaven I'm sure!

Of course no trip to Charleston would be complete without a stroll through downtown and the Farmer's Market. After all that walking around we rewarded ourselves with a very tasty lunch on the roof of one of the buildings near the water.

Next up, Myrtle Beach!
