Mommy & Adam Date Night...

To kick off the Thanksgiving week, I took Adam on a little date to National Harbor.  I had big plans of showing him the big tree at the Gaylord and timed our evening perfectly so we'd make the 6:30 snowfall and light show.  Needless to say, I was very much looking forward to this little date with my buddy.

We started with sandwiches at Pot Belly and had great conversation, including a laugh over the guy that walked in that we are both certain was Santa Claus...

We then trekked over to the Gaylord with about 10 minutes to spare before the big show...only to find out they pushed it to 7:30 that night because it was the first tree lighting of the season...sad face.

Though we were both sad we didn't get to see the tree lighting we quickly cheered ourselves up with a trip to Cake Love. We each picked out a cupcake and we even picked one out to bring to Daddy the next day.

After gobbling up his cupcake, it was clear the unlit tree was a decent memory...chocolate has that affect.

Even though it didn't go as planned it was the perfect evening with my chocolate loving guy! :)
