Playing Tourists in DC...

A few weekends ago with no plans on the docket we decided to play tourists in our own backyard - Washington, DC! Our first stop was the Air & Space Museum. Adam was beside himself. He couldn't get over all the awesome exhibits they had. He says he much prefers the DC museum to the one out by Dulles - I might have to agree. One of the highlights from the museum was a Sesame Street movie we got to watch in the planetarium which taught us all about the stars, moon and sun. Harper was in awe and Adam thought it was too babyish - sigh - you win some, you lose some.

After the museum we decided just to walk around and in take in some of the sites on the mall. The weather was wonderful so walking around without much of a plan was kind of perfect. Adam loved seeing the Washington Monument up close (was bummed we couldn't go up to the top - who knows when they'll have that fixed). He even took a few selfies with Harper to mark the occasion.

We then walked a good bit longer to find a spot for lunch - unfortunately the spot we were wanting to eat the building is not there anymore - like - demolished. So plans change. After that we walked back to the mall where Adam took a ride on the carousel (Harper could have gone but I didn't have enough cash to buy 3 tickets - yes, they charge the parent to ride with the toddler - annoying.) Adam had fun though.

On the drive home we all commented about how fun DC was and how close it really is - we all agreed we need to go back again soon.
