More pictures...

If I've learned anything from viewing old family slides, it's that the first baby gets A TON of pictures taken of them...and just think back then you had to use film, imagine what we'll accumulate in this digital age!

So here are a few (trust me I have plenty more) pictures of our first 24 hours at home with our sweet baby boy.

Visit with Grandparents

Adam Louis has some pretty great Grandparents and they all were able to visit on his first day in our lives.

First up Grandma and Grandpa Greeley visited (with Auntie Kathleen and Uncle Mark in tow).

Then we had a visit from Ommy and Poppy Gribble complete with a birthday cake for both Adam and myself and little bubbly to toast our new addition.

Adam is lucky to have such great family (and so are we, we'll be needing them for sure!)

Welcome Baby Boy Gribble...

Andy and I are so happy to welcome Adam Louis into our family. He was born at 4:07 p.m. yesterday (September 3), was 6 lbs 15 ounces and 20 inches. He's got a full head of BROWN (that's the Greeley side of things) hair and gorgeous blue eyes (compliments of mom and dad).

Adam was Andy's grandfather's name and Louis was my grandfather's name (both maternal grandparents) not to mention Andy always loved the name Adam, and I couldn't argue, I love it too! Both grandfather's were doctors, so Ommy has already been calling him "Doc" we'll see if that sticks! Perhaps we should start the medical school fund now--yikes!

We just love him to pieces and he was the most perfect birthday gift I could ever ask for.

September already!?

I can't believe September is actually here! While it seems like we were just celebrating Christmas, it also seems like September was a long time coming (could have something to do with the 9+ months of pregnancy!)

I had said from the beginning that I hoped baby boy would wait until September, and he certainly listened! I just love this time of year, and can't wait for these next four months (my favorite of the entire year!) They will be even more special this year, that's for sure!

I figured before this baby comes (which, seriously, it is September now, so feel free to make your debut anytime now baby boy!) I had better jot down a few memories of this pregnancy before they are forgotten amidst the feedings, diaper changing, and general exhaustion that I know will be setting in soon enough.

So here are just a few things I hope to always remember about this past year:

*Finding out I was pregnant--only took five tests to convince ourselves, boy that was expensive!
*Waking up every morning during the first trimester assuming that that would be the day the morning sickness started...still waiting for it to start---thanks baby boy!
*Taking baby boy on 16 airplane rides--United should sign him up as a frequent flyer! He was so well behaved on all of those flights.
*Seeing our baby boy for the first time-he was such a little peanut! Ultrasounds never get old!
*Hearing his strong heart beat for the first time--an amazing sound.
*Getting to finally announce to our friends and family that baby boy was on the way--nothing like seeing those excited Grandparent faces!
*Mustering up the courage to tell my office that I was pregnant and then realizing that they were all super supportive and not upset--which I foolishly had feared!
*Maternity clothes! Nothing compares to wearing elastic waist bands for 6 months...though at this point I'm ready to get back to normal clothes...though I could see pulling the pants out at Thanksgiving--I'm just saying!
*Ice cream! Yes, I ate a lot of ice cream and I shall miss thee until the next time...

*Finding out we were having a boy---we were so dead set that we were having a girl that it was actually a pleasant surprise...plus knowing meant the shopping could commence!
*Little kicks--baby boy has been a rather active tenant, but his kicks were never painful, just a great way of telling me he was still there, I think I'll miss those for sure.
*Belly talk--might sound strange but I think I'll miss Andy talking to my belly everyday, even though sometimes he whispered and I couldn't hear what he was saying-just good chatter between him and his son.
*My golf game--yes, I shall always have fond memories of how well I golfed during this pregnancy, I just hope I'm able to keep it up after he arrives, if not, at least I'll still have my hole-in-one to remember it by.

*Most of all, I'll always remember that I got to carry this little guy around for 9+ months, and I hope he remembers that too. I'll miss him being so close, but I think we're both ready to meet one another, so let's get this show on the road baby boy! :)

Our little Liddy...

With the imminent arrival of our baby boy, Andy and I have been doing our best to show lots of love to little Liddy and we've both made promises to her that we'll continue to show her lots of love even after baby boy arrives. Of course, we know that is easier said than done...

Having said all that, I felt a blog dedicated to our little 'puddin head poppins' (just one of our many random nicknames for her) was in order.

So in no particular order, here are some of the things we LOVE LOVE LOVE about our little Liddy:
*How she tilts her head when she hears funny sounds
*How much she LOVES to swim--she'll go all day if you let her
*Her curls
*How she loves to cuddle
*How much she loves her "Biggums" (big blue stuffed dog)
*How friendly she is (though some don't appreciate her kisses) ;)
*How she already knows baby boys name and runs to his room when we ask where he is

We love you Lid Pop!

Baby Boy's Nursery...

While we still have a few more minor things to do in the nursery, we are pretty much all set! Now we just need Baby Boy to arrive...

(**This rocking chair actually came from my granddad's house. It used to be yellow--though my mom thinks it was actually white at some point--but Andy made a project of it and sanded it down and repainted it--I was very impressed! It's nice to have some nostalgia in baby boy's room**)

(**Pardon my pj's**)

We've also got his bathroom all set up for him. I can't get enough of his little bath robe--so adorable!

Ok baby boy...whenever you're ready...we're uh, well, as ready as we can be! ha :)

A WGA Shower

On Saturday, the ladies from the WGA (Women's Golf Association) threw me my 6th, and I believe final, baby shower!

It was held at the club after the annual Founder's Cup tournament. Sadly, due to doctor's orders, I am not able to golf until after baby boy arrives, so I spent the morning doing some errands and treating myself to a manicure and pedicure! (Not a bad substitute for golf!) I then met up around 2:00 when the ladies were finishing the tournament.

The room was set up so nicely with a nice spread of afternoon snacks, a festive cake, and a diaper cake! It was so cute! They also had really pretty flower arrangements and the favors were mini baby bottles filled with blue M&M's and blue golf tees that say "It's a boy!" How cute is that?

We played one shower game, a baby trivia game which had everyone in heated debate! Who knew that babies were born without knee caps!? I'll have to be sure to check that out myself when baby boy arrives.

As always, baby boy was spoiled rotten with tons of fabulous gifts! He got quite a few new outfits (though a lot were in the 9 month range so that was good) and he also got the most adorable socks that look like they are little golf shoes--too cute! He also got a book that teaches ABC's using golf as a theme--very appropriate. Best of all, I had a room full of experienced moms (and some grandmoms as well) letting me know that they are all available for babysitting duty when Andy and I want to hit the links together---what could be better than that!?

So thanks to my golfing friends for putting on such a great shower! Andy and I have been so spoiled by everyone and I think we are now sufficiently "showered" and ready for baby boy to arrive! :)
