Mother's Day

I had a fantastic first Mother's Day! It actually started with a fantastic dinner on Saturday night. Adam went to bed a little early after being out and about all day and no real nap, so I was able to spend some time on the deck, reading my Martha (I'm soooo behind), sip on some wine and listen to some Nat King Cole--heaven! Dinner was fantastic and included bacon wrapped scallops, fresh cucumber and tomato salad, and a fillet.

Sunday morning, Adam woke up around 6:45 and immediately came in and gave me some Mother's Day smooches!! I love cuddling with him in bed in the morning. After some cuddle time, Andy brought him downstairs for his morning bottle and let me spend some quiet time watching tv and enjoying some coffee.

For breakfast we had bagels with smoked salmon and tomato. So good! We then went for a quick walk to the park. Sadly it was so cold outside so we didn't stay outside too long.

Our original plan had been to go for a picnic at Mount Vernon, but due to the chilly weather we had to get creative. So instead we had our picnic indoors and watched the final round of the The Players.

Adam even surprised me during our picnic with a great card and tickets to see "Mary Poppins" at the Kennedy Center! The best part is, Adam gave the second ticket to Erica, his God Mother! How sweet is that? :)

I hope all the moms out there had a great day! I know I did!
