Memorial Day Weekend...

We had a fun and pool filled Memorial Day Weekend. The weather was absolutely perfect and we found ourselves enjoying the pool everyday. Harper even got to dip his toes in the pool for the first time. He was a little unsure of what to make of the whole experience - but he seemed amenable to it at least as there weren't any tears or shrieks upon touching the chilly water. Turns out since then he's become quite the water baby - more on that later.

We used the long weekend as an excuse to have our new next door neighbors over for dinner. Adam is beyond excited that the family next door has a son their age - they are already great friends. They've also got two older daughters who are both delightful and the best part is the parents are awesome and we got along so great - even learned that they have stayed at our Wintergreen house because they are good friends with Kathleen's co-workers who used it one weekend a few years back - hello small world! Also - we had so much fun chatting it up with them that we didn't snap any pics - whoops!

In preparation for their visit Adam and I made a blueberry pie - kind of a Memorial Day Weekend tradition - and a tasty one at that.

It was the perfect kick-off to the summer!
