Weekend on the water...

Monday's are always hard, but they are especially hard after a fantastic weekend, and this past weekend was just that. Andy and I were up bright and early each morning in time to go for a nice long jog, followed by a pit stop at Starbucks, and a nice walk home. We even stopped by Walmart on our way home yesterday to pick up a few "beachy" things. We then spent most of the day Saturday (before the storms!) and all day yesterday out on the boat.

Now that we are keeping the boat in Occoquan, we really are having an easier time of using the boat. Probably the hardest part is getting all packed up and out the door. We brought Liddy along on Saturday so that she could get some swimming in. She had a great time and probably could have played fetch all day if it wasn't for our arms getting tired from throwing her toy a gazillion times! We then lounged on the boat for a few hours until the clouds rolled in. Fortunately we got back to the dock just as the storm started.

Yesterday we decided to leave Liddy at home as she was still limping around a bit, tired from the day before. We figured she could use the day off. So Andy and I got out on the water around 11:00 and stayed out until close to 4:00. It was amazing to see how many more boats were out yesterday than on Saturday. We dropped anchor near the beach and kept counting as more and more boats did the same. At one point I counted 57 boats. It was like a big party with everyone either on the beach, in the water, or lounging on rafts. It was a great atmosphere and we look forward to spending many more weekends out there this summer.
