Wolf Trap Sing-a-Long...

It wouldn't be the start of the holiday season without participating in one of our favorite traditions - the Wolf Trap Christmas Sing-a-Long featuring the Marine Corp Band! The weather was perfect for it and Andy even joined us this year - and he only complained a few times - winning!

This was also the first time that Harper got to go - and he did great! He loved dancing along to the music and even lined up to "sing" along with Adam & Olivia. It was too cute.

The big kids really got into it this year with the singing - it was so cute to see them reading/singing along to the holiday classics.

We also enjoyed some yummy treats as we listened to wonderful music. I also love the tradition of bringing Toys 4 Tots - Adam gets excited about that part each year and it's a good reminder at the beginning of the holiday season that we need to be thinking of those less fortunate.

Just an awesome event all around! Can't wait to do it again next year!

Wolf Trap Sing-a-Long...

The Christmas sing-a-long at Wolf Trap is one of my favorite traditions. This year I was a brave soul who took Adam, his friend Seth, and Olivia to the concert on my own - yikes. :) Luckily I met up with Sommer and Abby upon arrival so even though the kids still out numbered us at least I had my friends with me.

Adam and Seth were all about the hot chocolate, cookies, and playing. They played cards and then found joined a football game with all the other restless boys. The girls on the other hand were quite content to just sit, listen, and sing along - this is difference in boys and girls - ha!

A festive evening spent catching up with friends with Christmas carols in the background is just fine by me!

Wolf Trap Sing-a-Long...

The rain kept us away last year so when the weather forecast was calling for sunshine and mid-50's I knew we were not going to miss out on this fun tradition again this year. So we loaded up the car with Grandma & Olivia tagging along and with our "Toys for Tot's" in tow as well. Upon arrival we met up with Ami, Laura & Rachael and then as per tradition, Sommer, Adelyn & Jasper joined as well!

We pulled out the blankets, had some cookies, and listened and sometime sang along with the Marine Corp Band as they played all the holiday favorites.

Looking forward to next year when we can introduce Harper to this fun family tradition!

Wolf Trap Sing-A-:Long!

One of my favorite traditions since Adam came around is going to Wolf Trap for their annual Christmas Concert. It's free. They collect Toys4Tots. You can bring cookies and hot chocolate. Nothing can top this early holiday celebration. Over the years we've invited different friends to join along and it's made for just a wonderful Saturday in the beginning of the holiday season.

Seeester night at Wolf Trap!

I have a confession to make, I'm in love with another man. Yep, there, I said it. But it's ok, Andy is well aware and is actually supportive.  The problem is, my sister is also in love with this man. Yep, we're ready to go the mats over this one....his name....Josh Groban. Ok ok, so Andy is ok with it because he knows there's truly no threat, though it must be mentioned that he is on my "list" so there, it's not out of the question :) And Kathleen and I really don't have to fight over him, instead we can share our love for him, and last month we did just that.

Our boy Josh graced our presence at Wolf Trap, which is pretty much the Best. Venue. Ever.

We met up at our house, Andy took some pics, I critiqued his photo taking abilities, and then we spent the rest of the night taking about a gazillion "selfies."

"uhhh, Andy, take the pics from a bit higher up..."
The weather was unbelievable, especially for the middle of August, the wine was chilled, the people watching fantastic (including another twosome dressed surprisingly similar to the two of us), and of course, our boy Josh was beyond amazing. Love. Love. Love.

Of course as good as Josh is, the evening spent hanging out with my seeester was the best part of all!

Wolf Trap Holiday Sing-a-Long...

I *love* this new tradition of taking Adam to Wolf Trap's annual holiday sing-a-long.  This was only our second time attending, but I already know this will be on our to-do list every year, weather permitting of course!

This year we had a few extra friends and family joining us.  Erica and Blake tagged along and Kathleen and Olivia also joined in the fun.  Grandma was there, but then she was also there last year, so we've officially counted her as a regular! ;)

Adam was so excited, talking all day about going to see the band play. He insisted on wearing his Santa hat, which I supported 100%.  He was very good about turning in our "Toys-4-Tots" and even wished a hearty "Merry Christmas" to the toy collector.

The music was great, the hot chocolate was luke warm, perfect for a 3 year old, and the white chocolate fudge covered gingerbread men were a hit with everyone -thanks Auntie Bebe for bringing those into our lives!

Rudolph and Frosty made appearances on stage sending all of the kids into a frenzy and we were able to sneak out without any tears and before the traffic...always a true mark of success at any Wolf Trap event!
