OBX Day 1...

Even though we were only 3.5 hours from the beach the trip still seemed to take up most of the day. We have to stop a few times and before you know it you're pulling into the campground (Camp Hatteras) 2 hours after you originally had planned - but who cares! You're finally at the beach! 

Once we got our site set up - which took a little longer than usual since we weren't really pleased with the first site they gave us and then ended up really not liking the site they did give us - but more on that on Day 2's post - we immediately headed to the pool to cool off from all that unpacking! 

After that it was time for our traditional first night steamed shrimp from Austins and then a golf cart ride to go say "hello" to the beach. It just so happened that it was exactly two years earlier on that exact day that we first introduced Harper to the ocean (see here) so it was fun to recreate that moment - getting so so big! 

After some fun greeting the sand and ocean we headed back and decided to then go check out the sunset but with storms in the area we couldn't really get a great view - but not to worry we knew we had a whole week to catch the perfect sunset! 

By the end of day 1 we were exhausted but also super excited for the week ahead!
