Pre-Thanksgiving...

After last year's hiatus (hosting the real Thanksgiving dinner here and other travel plans that month kept us from being able to pull it off) we were ready to get this tradition back on track. It's always a great opportunity to bring new friends together all while enjoying everyone's favorite Thanksgiving recipes.  This year we had my oldest friend Abby and her husband Robbie and our newest friends Paul and Ashley. Greg and Erica were also able to come for dessert and post-dinner cocktails.

We feasted on turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese, broccoli casserole, cranberry salad, apple crisp and chocolate martinis! Woah - it was all so good and clearly it was so good I neglected to get too many photos!

All in all it was another successful Pre-Thanksgiving spent with friends we are oh so thankful for!

Pre-Thanksgiving...tailgate style...

Our 9th annual Pre-Thanksgiving, like last year, was less traditional, and yet, just as fun and meaningful.  With Greg home from his looooong work trip (at least for a few weeks) and with a Thursday night Hokie football game against Florida State, we decided to do a tailgating version of Pre-Thanksgiving.

The Menu

Cheese plate with sliced Honey Crisp Apples

Pumpkin Soup

Sauteed Brussel Sprouts, Asparagus and Bacon

Roasted Turkey Paninis with Cranberry Orange Chutney

Pumpkin Blondies with Pumpkin Mousse Topping

It was the perfect meal to gear up for the big game.  Adam and Blake pre-gammed by decorating Thanksgiving wreaths which turned out so cute.

It might not have been a fancy Pre-Thanksgiving but it was the perfect evening with the friends we are so thankful for.  There's no hiding how thankful Adam is for Blake...
