Hokie Siblings Weekend Part II...

We had a beautiful drive from our first stop down to Blacksburg. Virginia was really putting on an amazing autumnal show for us - and we were loving every moment of it. After our traditional pit stop at the Christiansburg Walmart where we loaded up with food, drinks and Hokie gear we made our way to campus. It was fun having Mark in the car and experiencing his glee in seeing our beloved alma mater in all her fall decor - something he hadn't seen in years. Of course even though we've been back each year it's still always a welcomed site for us as well.

Upon arriving at the golf course we scooped up two really nice spots for our weekend of tailgating. After setting up it was off to Macadoos for lunch.

From there it was all about surviving the rain storm that came through, hanging out with our nephew Dave (a Freshman at Tech!) and his girlfriend, tossing the football around, enjoying our campfire and "oooohing" and "aahhhhing" over the Homecoming weekend fireworks display that was right over our heads (much to the dismay of Harper and Sadie - oops.)

The rain cleared by the next day and while the temps were a bit colder than we would have liked it didn't stop us from enjoying a full day of Virginia Tech traditions. We started things off with breakfast at Gilly's, then more Hokie gear shopping at the book store, a stroll around campus, football tossing at the golf course, tailgate food, tailgate drinks, and a last minute score of super cheap tickets so we could go to the game.

Adam and I had seats on one side of the stadium and Kathleen and Olivia had seats on the other while Mark and Andy stayed back and watched by the campfire. Unfortunately the Hokies came up short - like they did for most of the season (with the exception of a big win over UVA - all that really matters) but we still enjoyed being there to jump for Enter Sandman, rattle our keys for 3rd downs and of course, do the Hokie Pokie.

There's nothing like a fall weekend in Blacksburg - made even more special with the addition of Mark, Kathleen and Olivia.

While our VT fun was coming to a close - our camping weekend was not...
