Camping at Pohick Bay...

After our freezing cold camping weekend in Charlottesville we were excited to see an unseasonably warm weather forecast pop up at the end of January so we decided to take advantage and get back to the woods for a "warmer" camping weekend.

The weather was actually perfect - we didn't even need jackets during the day - and at night the campfire and blankets kept us warm while we still enjoyed looking up at the stars and making s'mores of course!

The kids had so much fun being able to run around outside, playing football, going to the park, and we also enjoyed a great hike down to the water. The dogs were loving all the freedom as well. Have to make the most of those warmer days during the winter lest cabin fever creep up on you.

I was also excited to dust off my bike and enjoyed getting in lots of loops with Adam.

It was a good thing we got in the exercise we did too since we discovered an amazing coffee and crepe shop in Occoquan. The cappuccinos were so good (I'm always craving them after being in Europe) and the crepes, both savory and sweet, were divine. The boys gobbled theirs up and it was all we could think about until we went back the next day - heaven!

Fresh air, family time & crepes = the perfect winter camping weekend!
