Harper and I had some time to kill one Saturday in March so we popped over to Frying Pan Park to check in on the animals - though mostly Harper just wanted to sit on the tractors...

A morning at Frying Pan Park...
I took the boys to Frying Pan Park on Memorial Day and we had so much fun. The weather was overcast which meant the temps were perfect for spending a couple hours outdoors. The boys played at the playground while we waited to take the very first wagon ride of the day. This was Harper's first time riding on the wagon and I think it's safe to say he loved it. He was just taking everything in and preferred to be snuggled up with Adam for the ride than with me (sniff sniff).
We had so much fun - so lucky to have a place like that so close to home.
After our ride we went and checked in on all the animals. Harper was a little less terrified of them this time which was good. Of course pretending to drive the tractors is always the highlight.

Harper's First Visit to Frying Pan Park...
We made a spur of the moment visit to Frying Pan Park last month after a morning of running "boring errands" as Adam would say. It was Harper's first time and it was fun to watch him take it all in - surprisingly enough it was also Andy's first time there so it was cute to see him checking everything out as well. Of course Adam and I have had our fair share of visits (see here, here, here and here.)
Harper was cute riding on the tractors - Adam didn't want to take a turn - what? Is he growing up too fast or what!?
The little piglets were too cute and had Harper's attention for quite some time. Of course he also enjoyed seeing the chickens, bunny rabbits, cows, goats, and wild turkeys too! Though his favorite part was probably just trying to keep up with his big brother.
It was a fun morning on the farm and I know we'll be going back again soon - besides we didn't even introduce Harper to wagon ride or merry-go-round! Next time! :)

Adam & Mommy's Weekend of Fun...
A couple months back (yes, still playing catch up!) Andy spent the weekend with his folks down at Bethpage while Adam and I hung out around here. We had a birthday party to go to but found a way to fill in plenty of other fun activities as well.
First on the line-up was our inaugural trip to the Reston Farmer's Market at Lake Anne. The weather was beautiful and we even got to cheer on a group of guys competing in a mini-sailing regatta. After that we hit up the park and worked on our leg pumping skills. :)
The next day we decided to visit Frying Pan Park to check in on all the animals there. That place never fails to provide a good two hours worth of entertainment - and exercise. This trip, in addition to the carousel, we finally were able to catch a tractor ride around the entire farm - definitely worth the $2.00 ticket!
We definitely missed daddy but it was a fun weekend for this mom and her boy! :)

Cousin Time...
Our new house is about 10 minutes away from Frying Pan Park and while we've only gone once since we've moved in, it's nice to know it's there as it makes for a perfect weekend morning outing. Back in early October we met up with Kathleen & Olivia for a morning spent waving to animals, riding tractors, and lots of time spent playing on the jungle gym.
These two have so much fun together and bonus, Kathleen just moved to Reston, so I see lots of fun cousin time headed our way!

Morning at the farm...
I took Adam on a little "Adam & Mommy" date a few weekends ago. We beat the crowds and arrived bright and early to Frying Pan Park to wish a happy morning to all of the animals. There were lots of babies, a sign of spring I suppose...
Adam loved having the place practically to himself which meant he could ride on all of the tractors without having to wait in line, and without anyone in line behind him urging him to get off after five seconds. It was a great way to spend a Sunday morning, just a Momma and her babe....
