This year Thanksgiving kicked off with another fun luncheon at Adam's school. It's always so fun to go up and see his friends, talk with his teacher, and you can just feel the anticipation in the air for all the fun the upcoming holiday season has in store. It's also the book fair so that gets all the kids a bit fired up as well.
For the big day we started things off by hosting a Thanksgiving brunch for my family. Everyone came over in time to watch the parade ("Let's have a parade!") and we enjoyed some yummy pumpkin french toast casserole and an egg casserole - mimosas too of course! We also got to open up our traditional "Thanksgiving gifts" from Grandma & Grandpa. Christmas PJ's, Christmas candles and ornaments all around!
We then spent the rest of the day prepping our feast. The boys pitched in and helped tear the bread for my oyster stuffing. Harper loved being included - but also thought he could sneak a few bites of bread when he thought no one was looking - ha!
Andy and his dad smoked a turkey while I cooked the other one in the oven - love a good "turkey off" on Thanksgiving. Both birds received high ratings so we'll call it a tie.
We had a great crowd for Thanksgiving dinner - Ommy, Poppy, Uncle Mark, Auntie Bebe, Dave, Kurt, Uncle Shawn, Auntie Heidi, Garrett, Isabella, our dear family friend Dan, and our wonderful friends Paul & Ashley. There's nothing better than a full house during the holidays.
We enjoyed a fantastic meal (if I do say so myself) and shared a lot of laughs, memories, and everywhere you turned there was something or someone to be thankful for. A most wonderful Thanksgiving for sure.
