It's no surprise that I am a Christmas fiend! Always trying to soak in every last moment of the season and always on the lookout for new holiday activities for the family. This year I struck out with a visit to the German Christmas Markets here in Reston - hello overly crowded and super long lines! Good idea in theory - but definitely not worth going back. Happily, I made up for that failure with our first ever visit to the Christmas lights at Meadowlark Gardens.
What a beautiful place and the warm temps we experienced in December made it even more enjoyable. Everything just sparkled. I'm already looking forward to going back next year - and even going for a visit sometime this spring to see the gardens sans lights but full of blooms!
