Dinner with Dave and Kate...

Last Thursday, one of my great friends from Virginia Tech and his girlfriend came over for dinner.  I hadn't seen Dave in almost three years, and hadn't met Kate yet, so it was so awesome to be able to have them over while they were in town for some touring around the city. 

We marinated a pork tenderloin and grilled that and served up some camponata and rice on the side.  For dessert, mini-trifles! Not too shabby for an impromptu, weeknight dinner party! :)

Dave and Kate came bearing gifts--wine and cheese for us, and some Thomas the Train toys for Adam...they hit home runs with both!

We had so much fun catching up and reminiscing about the good 'old days at Tech.  We were sure to give Dave the "thumbs up" on Kate, she's fantastic! 

Hoping we don't go quite as long before our next visit...a VT football game this fall sounds like the perfect gathering spot to me!
