Shopping cart...

On Sunday I was charged with grocery duty and so I decided it was about time Adam got to try out sitting in the shopping cart! I hadn't tried it yet as I've been under the delusion that my little baby can't possible be big or old enough to ride in the cart. I think part of that was just me being in denial that Adam, is in fact, growing up!

However, his first spin in the cart was a HUGE success and he sure is big enough (sniff) to ride in it. He loved every second of it and it turned the mundane task of shopping for groceries into quite an adventure. I'm sure people were staring at me as I was "vrooming" down the aisles, but I didn't care! Adam was giggling and that's all that mattered. Though I think I was a tad distracted and forgot to buy half the things on the list, but oh well--just means another trip to the store and thus, another ride in the cart! :)

Play ball!

Speaking of big boys, Adam has also started to "play ball." He loves to try and catch his little ball and he even throws it back (sometimes-though never when the camera is rolling-figures). He is such a playful little guy!

Big cousin Adam

This past weekend was rather packed, as you can tell from my previous post. Not only did we welcome baby Olivia into our family, but Adam also became a BIG cousin for the second time! (Baby Isabella joined the family in February, and we'll FINALLY meet her on Saturday, so no doubt she'll have a post all to herself soon).

Adam got to celebrate his big boy weekend by hanging out with Grandma and Grandpa, Uncle Mark, and cousin Andrew. He also got to cheer on Dad as he played in his second annual Green Coat tournament. Sadly, his team didn't win those lovely green coats this year, but they had fun and Andy really impressed everyone with his long drives.

Adam enjoyed exploring Grandma and Grandpa's house and it's amazing the things that he finds entertaining. Forget the huge pile of rattles, rings, stuffed animals, and other such toys, no, he much prefers drawer handles, Grandpa's shoe laces, and racing cousin Andrew. (Andrew is sweet and always lets him win!) Needless to say, Adam wore himself (and the rest of us) out! :)

I am still amazed at what a big boy he's getting to be!

Welcome Olivia Louise!

We are so happy to welcome Olivia Louise into our family! She was born at 2:14 a.m. on Saturday, April 24 and was a petite 7 lbs 11 ounces and 20 inches long. She is a doll!

Kathleen and Lee are doing great and big brother Andrew is so excited that his sister has arrived. In fact yesterday I even heard him say, "could she be any cuter?" --melts your heart!

We look forward to watching her grow up and we can't wait for Adam to meet his little cousin--no doubt they will be great friends (and perhaps partners in crime and Grandma and Grandpa's?) :)

Congratulations to Kathleen and Lee---Olivia is one lucky girl!

XOXOXOX

Sunny Ft. Lauderdale

My Florida travels continued this past week with a work trip to Ft. Lauderdale. This was my first trip to this part of Florida (aside from a layover at the Miami airport a few years back) so I was looking forward to visiting.

My hotel was very nice and bonus points for them having a picture of Tom Hanks in the ladies room!

The conference I attended went really well and the marquee event was a Casino Night. I have to say it is far more fun gambling with fake money! By the end of the night I had $94,000 in chips--at that point I was sad that it was fake money! haha :)

Once the conference was over I got to spend some quality time with some of my members pool side. It was nice to get my toes in the water and soak up some sun after a busy week.

Of course the best part of all of my trips is getting home to my family! Adam greeted me with a HUGE smile which is just about the best feeling in the world! :)

Time to baby proof!

We knew it was coming...our son has gone mobile! With a full belly and a clear determination to get ahold of Daddy's flip flops, Adam decided it was time to get moving! And move, he did!

Look out, I think our jobs just got a little bit harder! Thank goodness we got some baby gates on Saturday (thanks Auntie Kathleen and Uncle Lee)! And now I either have a new reason to keep my floors clean, or a new way of cleaning them?! ;)

Never a dull moment!

Happy Easter!

I don't think I can remember an Easter weekend that was as warm and sunny as this one! Something about that nice warm weather and sunshine makes the weekend all the more special. We spent the weekend at my parent's house and did everything we could to make it a great first Easter for Adam.

We were up bright and early yesterday morning so that we could get in our Easter outfits (thanks Grandma for Adam's adorable outfit) and off to church in time to beat the crowds. I was a little nervous about taking Adam to church, but he was such a great sport and even danced a little during the music. He even appeared to be paying attention during the homily, which I was pretty happy about.

After church, we headed back to the house for a great Easter lunch. Andy cooked a ham, Dad made his baked macaroni and cheese, Lee made the deviled eggs, Mark brought his famous blondies and I made a carrot cake.

Adam got to "find" his very first Easter basket. His eyes lit up and he really seemed to enjoy playing with the plastic eggs and cuddling his new bunny. The highlight however, was the "Peter Cottontail" rabbit that my parents gave him. Adam loved it and was giggling and dancing along with it all day! The video says it all! :)

I hope everyone had a great Easter with family and friends!

Seven Months...

My goodness we are already closer to his 1st birthday than we are to the day he was born. Wow! This last month has brought forth quite a few "firsts!" We got to hear his first word, "Dada." Andy was quite pleased and I was on a business trip, so not sure what to think about that! ha :) But it is really cute to hear him go on and on about his "Dada!" Next step is teaching him that Liddy, his food, his diaper, his crib, and every other thing he is calling "Dada" is really not his dad...we'll get there!

He's also about two seconds away from crawling (exciting and scary all wrapped up in one). He has figured out how to move his feet and knees, but can't quite coordinate moving his arms yet. We'll be putting up baby gates soon though I'm sure.

Adam has also had a great month experimenting with new foods. He's a big fan of pears, applesauce, bananas, squash and sweet potatoes. He could live without peas and green beans, but we continue to fool him into eating them. The last thing we want is a picky eater! (like his Aunt Kathleen) ;)

He's become very loving and cuddles up with us and is starting to reach for us, which I LOVE! On the downside, he's started to feel a little clingy and "strangers" are starting to bother him a bit, but we're not too concerned. After a few minutes, he warms up to whomever is trying to pay him attention.

He is so playful now and really gets into his toys. He is babbling up a storm and we have even seen some signs of dancing when he hears music---look out Greeley family, we may have a new addition to the dance floor! :)

To commemorate his 7 month birthday, we made a big cookie cake and had a little photo shoot with Uncle Mark.

Happy 7 months Adam--you continue to make our days! :)

Splish Splash!

With this heat wave we've been having (and thoroughly enjoying I might add) we thought it would be fun to let Adam have a little "pool time." So for $5.00 at Target I was able to get this great inflatable baby pool. We filled it up with warm water from the faucet and threw in a few Easter Eggs for him to play with.

It took him a little while to get the hang of it, but once he figured out that he could splash us, there was no stopping him! He loved it so much we took him out a second time on Saturday and even let him go shirtless! :)

Can't beat entertainment like this for $5.00! :)
