He cracks himself up...

Ok, maybe it helps that Andy was doing a little jig to get him going, but does this not make you giggle too!? :)

"Give me that bottle!"

Still haven't caught him rolling over on video, but check out little (or shall I say BIG) Adam feeding himself!! What a big boy!!

Just because...

I haven't had too much to write about (still on rolling over watch with the video camera, but no luck yet) this week, but felt I should at least share a few photos. Adam has been really playful lately and with the warmish weather earlier in the week we were able to get some nice walks in. He is too cute in his little L.L. Bean jacket that we got as a gift and of course one of his hats that Grandma made :) He's also amazing us with the fact that he's starting to put his binkie in his mouth on his own and holding his bottle on his own (for a few seconds, at least.) My baby is growing up--make it stop! ;)

Rolling over!

Last Saturday Adam amazed us all and rolled over for the first time! It was quite exciting and he even put on an encore showing!

I was hoping to catch this new skill on video, but that hasn't worked out yet, so here are some pictures I was able to snap and I promise they aren't doctored :)

So, laughing--check; talking--check; holding head up--check; rolling over--check! Now on to crawling...

Adam's Baptism

Yesterday we got to celebrate Adam's baptism into the Catholic Church. It was an amazing day and we were so happy to get to celebrate with family and friends.

Father Bill, who married us, was also there yesterday to baptise Adam which is great! We were also happy to be joined by our lifelong friends, Don and Rosemary, who made the trip from Myrtle Beach to be there. Our family friends, John and Denise, were also there, as were my family, and Andy's parents and his sister Bebe and her family.

We of course were also joined by Adam's Godparents, Greg and Erica, and we couldn't be more thrilled for Adam to have them in such a special role in his life.

Adam did quite well the whole time, and only fussed a little when Father Bill poured the water over his head, as he got a little over zealous and splashed a bunch of water in Adam's eye. Oh well, I guess that means he got even more blessed yesterday!

After mass we headed to my parent's house for a celebration brunch. We had a great spread, to include some egg casseroles, a lite waldorf salad, and a creme' brulee french toast casserole (thanks to Cindy for the recipe). To top it all off, Erica made an amazing cake. I think I'm still on a sugar rush from it! :)

What a great day for our family! Adam is such a lucky and blessed baby boy!

Flash back to 4 month pictures...

I'm also a little late posting about Adam's 4 month bday! Following tradition I did bake yet another celebration cake for him, however in the spirit of a healthier New Year, I made a chocolate cake using pumpkin pie filling rather than eggs and oil...it tasted ok. I'd give it a 6 out of 10.

Meanwhile, Adam is growing up so fast!! He's really starting to play with his toys and loves shaking rattles, hugging his stuffed animals, and flicking the rings on his car seat. That and he puts just about anything he can get his hands on in his month...sign of teething?! Oh boy!!! :)

Flash back to New Year's...

I realized in the craziness of starting the new year, I never posted about our New Year's festivities. While we were asleep at the stroke of midnight, we still celebrated (early on New Year's Eve) and then with Andy's family on New Year's Day.

At Wintergreen we celebrated the last day of 2009 by cheering on the Hokies and we even wore party hats and brought out the noise makers for a 10:00 New Year's Eve celebration! :)

We then spent New Year's Day celebrating with Andy's family at his folk's house. We had traditional black eyed peas and an amazing ham. It was great to see everyone and were happy that Adam got to finally meet the rest of his cousins, Drew, Nick, and Sam, and his uncle John.

Hard to believe we are almost a month in to 2010, but at least we started it off with a bang (and a lot of family!) :)

Dinner party with old friends...

Last night we had a dinner party with our very good family friends. We were supposed to get together over the holidays, but the blizzard of '09 caused us to have to postpone. We were looking forward to seeing everyone as it had been a long time since our families had all been together.

We all headed over to John and Denise's house and their daughter Ami and her husband Byron and their two daughters, Rachel and Laura, were there. Their daughter Abby, who I grew up with, was also there with her husband Scott. Sadly their son, Adam, was not able to make it up from Richmond, but hopefully the next time we all get together he'll be able to come.

We had great appetizers (courtesy of Abby) and a very good dinner, with lots of vegetables, which I ate with Rachel, as a way of ensuring we'd both get to enjoy dessert! :)

Adam had lots of admirers, little (almost) two year old Laura, was quite smitten with him and kept giving him kisses and bringing him his rattle. She loved having a baby there to play with! Adam responded with lots of smiles and giggles (and of course some spit up) :)

It was a great reunion of two families who grew up together, and it was awesome to see the third generation playing together!

We are so happy for our friends and we can't wait to meet the little guy!! Adam is already asking us when he can make the trip to Richmond to meet his new friend!!

Congratulations Chris and Aimee!! Ryan sure is a lucky boy to have you two as his parents!!
